About the Role Lawyer with min. 8-10 years of experience in supporting procurement activities with strong IP/IT background, good knowledge of AI and new technologies and exposure to US lawyers/companies. Education University law degree.
Experience Minimum 8-10 years of experience in legal matters within an international financial and/or IT/telecom environment - Member of 'In house Counsel Association' or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities 01. Plan and execute legal activities of large complexity to give company-wide sound legal advice/counsel/decisions recommendations in order to support SWIFT activities and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
02. Provide legal support in company's new projects by undertaking research on specific legal problems/issues and by offering opinions/counsels.
03. Draft/review/recommend company contracts, participate in negotiations, recommend amendments to contracts worldwide for customers/suppliers/ development projects/ network.
04. Set standards for company contracts and draft/review legal policies/procedures.
05. Coordinate and follow up worldwide litigation with management, staff and lawyers to ensure best possible settlement. Negotiate claims with third parties to avoid litigation.
06. Liaise with management and staff, with customers/suppliers/lawyers/public administrations/etc. .
07. Coordinate administrative tasks within the department and be an effective back-up for the manager and for colleagues.
08. Maintain/develop own understanding of evolutions in relevant areas of the law including commercial and competition laws, licensing issues and telecommunication matters to identify potential impact on SWIFT operations.
09. Drive and assist less senior counsel in performing tasks. Review work of outside counsels.
10. Manage a risk area and control framework on a project basis, understand the corporate strategic risk footprint and propose solutions to mitigate such risk.
