Position Description:
Theprimary focus of the role based in RadissonHotel Group's global headquarters in Brussels will be to support the global businessunits, including business development, asset management, operations, sales and marketing,procurement, technical & engineering, distribution, IT, loyalty and digital andin those areas for which the (Senior) Director, Legal will be the primary pointof contact.
Asthe primary focus will be on supporting the global business units, thegeographical scope will include projects in EMEA and APAC and the areas ofresponsibilities may shift depending on the needs of the legal department andthe organization.
Therole will work closely with the teams of the Chief Development Officer, SeniorVice President Asset Management, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Senior VicePresident Procurement and the regional Senior Area Vice Presidents, as well asother departments.
It ispreferred to have a lawyer in the role with several years of law firmexperience in real estate and/or commercial, able to function independently,under high pressure and tight time frames.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
·Draft,review, negotiate and advise on heads of terms, hotel lease agreements, commercialagreements, procurement agreements, IT agreements, license agreements, managementagreements, technical assistance services agreements and ancillary contracts.
· Workclosely with the global business teams to identify and remove barriers tofinalizing contracts in accordance with the company's standards and assist thoseteams with the contracting work and negotiations.
· Draft,review, negotiate and advise business teams on contracts and other legalmatters relating to the hotel operations and in the field of IP/IT..
· Draftnotices of breach. Initiate, coordinate and instruct external counsel on courtor arbitration procedures and assist the operations teams in reachingsettlements with owners
· Draft,review, negotiate and advise other teams on various contracts with businesspartners and service providers
· Draft,review and implement policies, procedures and business practices and ensureunderstanding and compliance by relevant departments
· Assistwith the annual improvements of the contract templates to ensure that wecapture best practices and the developments in the hospitality industry.
RequiredKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities :
· Minimum 4-5+ years of experience in an international law firm or legalpractice of an international company with relevant expertise with willingnessto travel when required
· Master in Law from an European university; preferably supported by an in another European country or in the
· Fluency in English language
· Knowledge of another language/s is an asset
· Ability to function independently under high pressure and tight timeframes
· Being able to work as a commercially minded lawyer and business partnerside by side with the business teams
